Below is the concert band syllabus. It can also be found on the tab titled "Concert Band" or be clicking here. (This was distributed to students during period 1 on Monday, August 27, 2012.) Below you will find the information for the first football game @ Wilson HS. Parents and Students,
I just received an invoice for the color guard and instrumentalist marching shoes. The shoes are going to be $31.00 for color guard and $36.00 for instrumentalists. Checks should be made payable to GMHS Band. All payments are due by Friday, September 7 (second football game). If you have any questions, please ask. Thanks, Mr. Deininger Hello Marching Band Parents and Students,
I want to take a minute and remind you of the schedule coming up this week. First, we are starting our school rehearsal schedule of Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Just a reminder that all rehearsals are mandatory and marching band is a co-curricular activity. One unique event happening this week is the Mustang Preview on Wednesday, August 29. This is an evening where the band performs for the fall sports teams and parents. The students report time for this event is 6:00 PM. The preview starts at 7:00 PM in the GM Stadium. Please come out and see the full show performed for the first time in public! Full uniforms will be worn for this performance. This event should be over by 8:30 PM. Friday, August 30 marks the beginning of the high school football season. Our first game is at Wilson. The game starts at 7:00 PM. If you plan on going, I believe the athletic department will have tickets for purchase during the week of August 26. This game is typically well attended to the point where potential spectators are turned away. I would recommend buying tickets through our athletic department or arriving early to the game in order to get a ticket. Arriving early to secure a seat is also a good idea. I hope to see you there to support Governor Mifflin. Detailed information will be posted by Monday, August 26, so please check my website for this information. Throughout the season, all schedules and information for performance days will be posted on the announcements page of my website, so please check there for all the information. I will also hand it out to the students so you should being seeing a hard copy of the schedules as well. We can still use volunteers for chaperoning and field crew, especially to move the ramps and other equipment for each show (football games and competitions). Please, contact Mrs. Jody Conrad ([email protected]) and she will be sure to point you in the right direction. Thank you in advance for volunteering and for your continued support throughout the season. Have a wonderful weekend! Thanks, Mr. Deininger Hello Marching Band Parents,
I am writing to give you a link to order the band t-shirts for this school year. The students have voted and the t-shirts will be ordered mid-week (week of August 27). T-shirts are $10.00 each, but please do not hand in money until the t-shirts arrive and I send an email asking for payment. To get to the form for ordering, click here. All orders are due by Wednesday, August 29, 2012. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks, Mr. Deininger Hello,
I am writing to pass along information about fundraisers that are currently going on. First, we have the Gino's fundraiser. Gino's small cold sandwich ticket sales runs from today until September 11, 2012. Money and/or unsold tickets are do BEFORE or by September 11th. If you need more tickets, please email me at [email protected] and I will get them to you. Sell tickets for $4.00 each - which is a GREAT deal for ALL!!! Students will receive $1 for each ticket sale into their music account. Any questions, please email me at [email protected]. Second, we are doing the Strike-Up the Band Program ads once again. Students get 50% of the sales into their student accounts. It is a very simple fundraiser. All you need to do is to grab forms from outside of Mr. Deininger's office, put the student's name on the line for the credit of the ad, take it to the business, and have the business mail the form to the address on the form. All the information for prices and incentives to take out an ad are right on the first page and businesses return the second page. There are also papers for individual ads for parents, family, and friends to take out the one liners up to a page. You can put photos of students wishing them good luck, or simply tell them good luck through a one liner. These forms are also outside of Mr. Deininger's office. Below is the information for the Parent Preview Night (Thursday, August 16) and the end of band camp pool party (Friday, August 17). Below you will find what is needed for the annual end of band camp pool party. This is done with donations and all donations as welcomed. Please contact Mrs. Chris Brown directly regarding donations (contact information below). As we head into band camp, below are some important volunteering opportunities and announcements as we move forward with the season. The document below will give you all the information for what to expect at band camp. Please read it carefully and come prepared to band camp everyday. Here is to a great camp! |
